Comments: | I took this course to satify an English Literature Requirement. This became an opportunity through my other English course Representing Islam, where we studied literature and cultures from countries like Iran, Iraq, Moracco and Egypt. In Egypt we had class nightly. We discussed the days tours and brought up the day's current issues. We had class on the train on our way to Aswan. We had class at tea time on the Nile a few times. We had class in Alexandria. I though it was really amazing to be in these places learnoing new things. Reading materials were given prior to our departure from the US. Many students read while we were travelling from place to place. Many readings came form various academic resources. We studied transitions for Egypt before their new Revolution. I want to return to study more and to learn Arabic. My teacher was amazing and we were lucky to have two Egyptians who were George Mason students with us. It helped with the language barrier. |
