Study Abroad Programs in Hong Kong
It was definitely an experience worth having. There are some culture differences between Hong Kong and America. However, if you keep an open mind, you will come to learn to appreciate some of the Asian values.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Since i took mostly liberal arts courses, I felt like i gained knowledge in fields unrelated to my major. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The Administration at HKUST was very good. Prior arriving at HKUST, the administration kept us updated through emails and made sure that we have the required forms filled out. However, it would have been better if they provided more details on what students could do right after they arrived at the Hong Kong airport. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I lived at my aunt's apartment

Again, i stayed at my aunt's apartment |
* Food: |
As a chinese food lover, I enjoyed the food in Hong Kong very much. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:

* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I did some research on Hong Kong before my departure. It is true when they say Hong Kong is one of the safest cities in the world. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Food, groceries and entertainment in Hong Kong are pretty cheap compared to the states. |
Language
Language acquisition improvement? |
Most of the students speak Cantonese and average English. Since English is my first language, i do not think my English improved nor deteriorated. |
