Study Abroad Programs in India
I learned about another culture, and had a chance to learn about truths and lies about the country. I definitely learned to appreciate the resources that we are given in America and to take advantage of everything. the experience of going overseas was worthwhile since I had never been out of the country before.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I do not believe that we had enough time in the classroom while visiting. Even though we had a few days where some of the grad students had presentations, and we had tours to certain areas, I wanted to experience more of a classroom setting. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
they were very nice, and welcoming. i enjoyed their company |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I would have rather stayed in a dorm or on campus to get the full experience of what students on campus do instead of staying in multiple hotels throughout the trip if it was possible. |
* Food: |
The food was ok, but the amount of money that we had to spend on lunch and dinner was way too much. I thought that we would be receiving meals throughout the day, not just breakfast. The amount of money for food should have been included on the budget form. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
the country was pretty safe, just for females who plan on attending study abroad areas such as India, make sure that you know what clothes to where and when to where them |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | around $25- $40 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | make sure you bring enough money for every single meal and not just snacks as well as try to budget your money weekly |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Academic or LinguistYou went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you! |
