Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I would not call this program rigorously challenging academically, but you are pushed to grow in so many other ways. I really wanted a break from the kind of theory based academics I had experienced at Macalester. In the living routes program I got to combine my academic interests with actual practice and also talk about important topics in sustainability from a more human and emotional perspective, not just looking at the objective "facts", so to speak, but actually talking about how we feel about things. I think that many universities are too concerned with sterilizing our education of any subjectivity and so I found the living routes program to really be a breath of fresh air. |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | If you are interested in spending a considerable amount of "class time" sitting on the floor in a circle talking about your feelings (and I do!) then this program is for you. If you want to experience living in community and learn about both environmental and personal (emotional, mental, spiritual) sustainability then |
