I went on an exchange year with EF (EF High School Exchange Year) and it was an amazing experience. I went there as a minor and they treated me perfectly all along. There were a lot of counselors and such, there in the US that were looking after me. I would 100% recommend EF to go on an exchange year and make the most out of it :)

Really really good administration in the USA! They made me feel super safe.
