Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
It was an extremely tough year, but I loved every minute of it. Not only did I learn in the classroom, but I learned a lot from the Austrian students outside of class. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
It was good, but again, I preferred being with students my own age and experiencing my own things. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Icky compared to the US. Sharing an open stall bathroom (as in stalls with showers and toilets in the same place) with men and women is just weird.

Already did. |
* Food: |
I can cook well. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
It was a great time. I'm considering moving back. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I broke my elbow. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Can't really say. You can always change it by where you shop for food. Normally Spar, but Hofer tends to be cheaper. You can adjust it to your own needs. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Just keep a record of your expenses, it makes life easier. |
Language
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
|
Language acquisition improvement? |
I learned a lot more adult vocabulary, though I think I lost some of my English language skills. |
