What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?

Overall, my study abroad experience was worthwhile both in time and money spent. I made several close friends while there and will keep in touch with many more in the future. I learned to be more sure of myself, more flexible when problems arose, and how to deal with many different types of people. I gained insight into the many differences between cultures and peoples but I also learned that people are generally the same the world over. Certain aspects of culture can be hard to overcome but the right attitude with a sense of humor, open-mindedness, and a willingness for adventure can adapt and enjoy whatever the obstacle may be for the experience that it is. I would recommend a study abroad experience, not just to Morocco, but anywhere to anyone as a way to broaden one's view of the world and counter-act the lack of cultural awareness that is endemic in the American perspective.

* Housing: How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?	I lived with a Moroccan in a very nice dorm room. Unfortunately, dorms were segregated by sex which limited and confined time spent with friends to only a few areas. <br /><br />
* Social & Cultural Integration: How integrated did you feel with the local culture?
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program?	Yes

Finances

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants?	Morocco is much cheaper than the United States but newcomers to the country will frequently be taken advantage of when it comes to prices of taxis, food, etc. Negotiations of price is expected almost everywhere and you quickly figure out what should pay and learn to insist on the right price.
