The University of Dundee was founded in 1881 as a university college, and for 70 years is was a constituent college of the University of St Andrews. The University of Dundee received its Royal Charter, granting full independent status, in 1967. Dundee is a traditional Scottish University, research-led with excellent standards of teaching. Two thirds of the academic schools have received Excellent or Highly Satisfactory teaching quality assessment ratings from the UK government funding authoring. Semester Program:The program offers students the opportunity to spend a semester immersing themselves in the academic, historical, political and cultural life of Scotland. The University of Dundee has a firmly established reputation for teaching quality and high-level research. Dundee is a campus university where teaching facilities, social facilities and much of the student accommodation are all on the same compact site. Dundee University has approximately 18,000 students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, drawn from the UK, Europe and other countries.
