About
National Taipei University was officially inaugurated in 2000 but it has a proud, evolving history that began with the establishment of the Provincial Junior College of Administration in November 1949. Later, it became Taiwan Provincial College of Business and Law, then Provincial Chung Hsing University, and then National Chung Hsing University, College of Business and Law. Finally, February 1, 2000 marked the genesis of NTPU.
Students will have lectures on Taiwanese culture and history and take part in excursions related to their coursework.
Asian studies majors/minors need to work with their advisor in the Asian Studies Department to receive credit that will count towards their major/minor. This will require students to write a four to five page paper about their experience in Taiwan after which students' advisors will amend students' major/minor plan so that students receive the proper credit.
