About

The University of Urbino "Carlo Bo" is located in the hill-top region of Le Marche, in the north-eastern part of central Italy. Founded in 1506, the university currently has approximately 20,000 students. There is no central campus but the university occupies many buildings throughout the town and the surrounding countryside. Traditionally, the University of Urbino has given precedence to studies in the humanities, and is renowned for its courses in Italian language.

All participants enroll in special intensive Italian language courses for foreign students, taught by experienced, native born faculty from the University of Urbino. In addition, all participants are required to take regular University of Urbino courses to be selected under advisement. In some courses tutoring will be available. Courses are generally taken in the Facolta di Lettere e Filosofia and the Facolta di Lingue e Letterature Straniere. Under certain circumstances, students may also be able to take courses offered by other faculties. Enrollment in regular university courses provide students with a total immersion experience.
