What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My experience in Budapest was incredible. I discovered Hungarian culture alongside friends from all over the world who were also new to Hungary. I really feel like I grew up and enjoyed the experience so much; I wouldn't change a thing!

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Lecture style classes, generally pretty slow since they were directed at non-native English speakers.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Offered support but language barrier was sometimes difficult to work with.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Wish I lived with non-Americans, although we had a great time.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Made great friends from all over the world, and traveled with them. Went on some trips arranged by Erasmus, my favorite was Eger.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

The only downside of my trip was that having medical insurance did not help at all. I had to see a doctor three times and racked up nearly a thousand dollars in medical bills. =(

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? You will be on your own a lot but the city is beautiful and you will have a lot of time to grow up and learn about yourself. It wasn't always easy, but it was fun, and I feel so much more confident and comfortable being and traveling on my own now.
