About

Situated at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis, the Nice International Summer University is a four-week program that provides small group instruction in the French language, as well as literature and civilization workshops. SUNY Oswego Education Abroad has a Resident Director on-site to assist with welcoming students to Nice, scheduled airport pick up, housing placement, orientation, day trip excursions, and overall program support.

SUNY Oswego offers the Nice International Summer University "FFL Session 4" for a total of 6 US credits.

Beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of language are offered. Teaching is oriented toward the acquisition or improvement of oral and written French, with language learning closely linked to study of culture. Advanced technological approaches to language learning are used. Courses are taught in French.

During this course, students will take two courses worth 3 US credits each. One course is a language-literature course for 3 US credits. The language-literature classes helps students of all levels to improve their oral communication skills while also developing their written language abilities in professional, academic and everyday situations. The remaining 3 US credits come from French language workshops. The workshops aim to provide students with as much practice as possible in diverse aspects of French language and culture. Depending upon the chosen theme, emphasis is placed varyingly upon comprehension and expression, both oral and written.
