A study abroad experience, not an educational experience. Past Review
By A student (Wellesley College) - abroad from 02/01/2015 to 06/04/2015 with
Tel Aviv University: Undergraduate Semester / Year in Israel
The experience was nice because on either side of tel aviv I traveled in North Africa, the Middle East and Europe. If i had solely done tel aviv I would not have enjoyed it as much

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
While the course in Hebrew was very good, the rest was a complete joke. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The madrichim (couselors) were great. However, the academic staff left something to be desired. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The program made it sound like there was a real kitchen, which there was not. Since there was no meal plan this was a problem for many of us who wanted to cook a lot of meals in. The problem is that in Israel, kitchens are not what they are in the U.S. However, because this is a program marketed largely to Americans it should be more clear. |
* Food: |
The food in Tel Aviv is great, but there was no meal plan or real kitchens in the dorms. Restaurants are very expensive. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|

|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
I would likely go to a more academically rigorous program. |

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
