Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was not overwhelming, especially for a summer in the very lively city of Tel Aviv. Lectures/educational system were very similar to the USA. And, just as with the USA, some professors were very unpleasantly vocal about their political beliefs and some kept theirs private. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The Overseas Study department at TAU was very helpful in everything and held social activities for the students. They were very knowledgeable and it overall was very enjoyable. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Housing itself was very great - air conditioned, renovated, etc. However, it was a busride/cab (at night) away from Tel Aviv itself. It was very close to class, however, and very safe. All sheets/household appliances were to be brought by the students. |
* Food: |
Food quality was very good, however there were not many options (and few cheap ones) close to the dorms. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Field trips to the North and South (each a weekend trip), weekly social events, and a lively nightlife! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Healthcare/campus clinic was very easily accessible and free, and the city is very safe. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
