I really got to view the Italian healthcare system upclose while also engaging with cancer research which opened up my eyes greatly.

I would have liked more budgeting tips prior but I feel like it was relatively easy to navigate although I did spend more money on both travel and food than I expected.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Try to use program accommodations to cook as much as possible. Figure out public transit as soon as you can. Try to avoid tourist traps.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? It was advertised in a way that made it seem like we would be participating in actual research when it was more so learning about how the research is being done. I wish this was clearer.
