Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The courses are not blow off classes and require studying--however this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone in college. That being said, you won't be too busy doing homework on the weekends to travel. All of your professors will speak English so that shouldn't be a concern.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The support services at AUR were awesome. The Student Life Office plans activities and cooking classes every week. They can also help recommend weekend trips, give directions etc. They are an awesome resource, use them!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

You will live with American Students so you won't use Italian at home.

* Food:

Food is available everywhere. Vegans and vegetarians won't have an issue finding food to meet their dietary restrictions.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

There is never a shortage of things to do or see in Rome... But take advantage of the trips planned by the ResGrads. The cooking classes are free and fun!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Use common sense, don't walk home alone and don't lose your keys with your address written on them. If you do, AUR can have the locks changed quickly.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
