A Necessary Experience Past Review

The Education Abroad Network (TEAN): Global Remote Internship
After I completed my global remote internship, I realized the many different skills that can come from putting yourself out there and truly taking initiative while honing a few skills, such as good time-management, working with diverse groups, developing creative ideas as well as the importance of setting SMART goals. It was definitely worthwhile because it changed the way I go about setting goals and scheduling my life for the better. It also opened a lot of doors for me.

Yes
Yes, I would. Throughout the course of my internship, I organized and hosted a virtual conference which was classified as my own creative project where I interned for a very prominent NGO known as Teaching North Korean Refugees (TNKR) based in Seoul, South Korea. Where the project I created was a virtual conference centered around spreading awareness about female North Korean refugees and fundraising for TNKR’s new program designed to provide refugee women with the opportunity to gain work experience, a stipend, and adequate health insurance. Without TEAN, I don't think that I would have had such an opportunity and understand my purpose and the direction I wanted to go in as much as I do now. |

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | I wish I knew more of the specifics. As in, I wish I knew that the potentiality of the programs that we were being paired with would have nothing to do with the description on the website. What I mean by this is to not expect the field marked NGO or even law to be with organizations that does exactly what the description says. It refers to NGO's in specific areas that you choose that happen to be in the area and like your profile. It is not a guarantee that they will show an interest in your profile. |
