Amazing Past Review
By Jaime K (Health Science: Pre Physician Assistant, University of Hartford) - abroad from 07/13/2015 to 11/22/2015 with
The Education Abroad Network (TEAN): Gold Coast - Griffith University
Studying abroad helped me grow more independent and helped me become more culturally aware of the world around me. Being able to watch american news while in Australia and to hear Australians comments on major issues gave me a unique perspective on how other parts of the world view some of the major issues america faces. I also was able to learn a great deal about my host country through the class i took and learned about their health care system and the different health care issues they face as a country which i found extremely interesting.

Did not have a meal plan so had to cook for myself. Easy access to grocery stores that had enormous varieties of fresh seasonal produce. Tons of options for eating out as well. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Since i didnt live on campus i lived with majority of other american students so i didnt really meet that many australians. My class sizes were also very large so i didnt mean very many australians at school either. |

The Academic or LinguistYou went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you! |
