A Life Changing Semester Past Review
By Michaela W (Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography., University of Rhode Island) - abroad from 07/07/2014 to 11/23/2015 with
The Education Abroad Network (TEAN): Townsville - James Cook University
While abroad, I learned that I am much more independent than I had ever known. I gained the knowledge of a new culture and the ability to adapt to new ways of life. Studying abroad was absolutely worthwhile and I would do it all over a million times!

I went to the health services that was available on campus and they were super helpful. The cost of my visit was covered by my healthcare through James Cook University for international students. The healthcare system was very similar to that at URI and the prescription costs were minimal. |
* Safety: |
I felt extremely safe while in Townsville. My advice would be to always travel with other people, don't travel alone. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes

The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
