The GREEN Program: Iceland - Sustainability and Renewable Energy Abroad

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
This program was amazing! I gained a lot of knowledge about renewable energy sources, renewable energy plants, and how it works. I know that the knowledge I gained will help me get ahead in my school as well as my career! Not to mention I learned all about the Icelandic culture and truly experienced all the country had to offer! It was a worthwhile trip and I would do it again in a heartbeat! I would highly recommend this program!

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

This program provided a hands on educational experience. We had classes through the University of Reykjavik taught by experts in the renewable fields. We also visited many renewable energy sites and were taught all about the processes while doing hands on activities. We had a Capstone project that we had to create, research, and present to our group as well as many university professors.

Our program leaders were very professional, fun, and intelligent. We had two Icelandic guides that helped us to understand the culture and tell us things we would have never known about Iceland.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
