The GREEN Program: Iceland - Sustainability and Renewable Energy Abroad

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The Iceland program, in my opinion, offers the most exposure to renewable and clean energy. The entire country runs on clean energy and has harvested their natural resources in a very efficient manner. We were able to attend classes taught by working professionals who had unique insides into the industry. This program offers a very different type of experience. For most of the trip, we are surrounded by natural resources and get to experience Iceland in the best way possible. This is very important as it gives some perspective on what we are trying to protect when we are pushing for the growth of the clean energy industry. In all it is a very eye-opening experience, to see just how different the quality of life is when the entire country functions on clean energy.
