What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Travelling abroad alone is a learning experience you share with yourself. You learn who you are, who you are not, and who you want to be. Among the many things I learned about myself during this trip is that I am capable of so much more than I give myself credit for. Each day I was faced with a new challenge and overcoming all of them allowed me to discover my capabilities.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The program consisted of a small group of students which allowed for all of us to really get to know one another on a more personal level. I created friendships that will definitely last a lifetime.
  • Learning outside of the typical classroom setting was amazing.
  • It's hard to go abroad and not mention something about the food. Everyday we ate at a new restaurant and tried new food. As a vegetarian I was very satisfied with the many options available to me.
* What could be improved?
  • I wish we were given more time to work on our capstone projects.
  • The duration of the program itself seemed very short. I feel as though 14 days would be a good time period.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Avoid drinking water that has not been sanitized (that includes ice!)
