* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
My internship was great. I learnt a great deal about innovative ways to help impoverished communities which was right in line with what I wanted from my program. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The Madrid team was amazing. They were always available to help me when I needed anything. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I appreciated the proper spanish decor. The landlady was a bit of an annoyance when she visited our flat multiple time. After talking to the Madrid team they were able to address the problem. |
* Food: |
For me I enjoyed the tapas but the food here was just good not great. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I had to visit the dentist. Translators were available and helpful, there are pharmacies everywhere with helpful staff for minor things. Overall the prices were reasonable and the service above average. |
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
The personal and professional growth I experienced was without a doubt just what was needed. The friendships I made will last a lifetime and I wouldn't change any of it. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
I would say make a budget and stick to it. Cook in and wait to buy souvenirs towards the end. |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?
0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language |
|

How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? | Beginner |
How many hours per day did you use the language? | |
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? | Take a Spanish class before coming. Taking it when u arrive is easy to sign up for but with all the excitement and plans it can become daunting. |
