Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
as far as experience goes, the quality was outstanding. as far as classroom technique goes, my fellow students and i felt deprived. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Jessee was wonderful, she made the experience much better |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
we lived in a converted motel. it was fine |
* Food: |
food was okay, it all had to be imported, so there is not much to do to better it. the amount of precedence the staff had over the students was fascist. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
the local population was wonderful. the program staff were intent on not letting the students develop real relationships with them out of unfounded fear as a result of the inculcation of stranger danger and fear of "the other" |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
some students got very sick and it seems that some greater precautions and quicker action might have reduced the severety of illness. the island was not very dangerous. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
Language acquisition improvement? |
i practiced speaking spanish by my own accord, the program was in english and the country is english-speaking |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | if you can tolerate a reversal in the direction of entering adulthood as a college student and as a 20/21 year old and the way you interact with other adults, meaning, if you don't mind being treated like a camper with much higher expectations, but truely care to explore the corners of the world, go. |
