Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The University grades on a harsher level then my home university. With that being said, the grade for passing is lower, so it evens out. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
They were able to communicate well while I was abroad and helped me the best to their abilities when I ran into a problem. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I was set up for housing by Semester in Australia (http://www.semesterinaustralia.com/) and they were able to accommodate me easily. I was having a hard time finding a place to live and Ann Wadsworth found me something within a day. |
* Food: |
Food was similar to American food, though not as fatty |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Being in the city meant that there was something going on every night. While the clubs represented a culture much like our own, they were younger, and more friendly. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Safety was excellent, though there were hardly any cops around, people never took advantage of you. Plus there are cameras everywhere. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Direct Enrollment/Exchange
* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Direct Enrollment |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Just do it, things will get tough beforehand and you may feel like dropping out, but don't! Spending time in another country helps you with issues you might have with yourself, and it's also great for networking. |
