What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I had never traveled before, even within the states, so this was an amazing experience. I not only learned about traveling and the Ghanaian culture, but I learned so much more about myself. I did things that I never thought I would have and I saw things that I didn't know existed. It was an amazing learning experience that opened my eyes to the world.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Maing connections and learning about the staff at Dagbe in my free time.
  • Seeing what it is like in a village and a big city.
  • The variety in activities and things that learned.
* What could be improved?
  • We only had five days at Dagbe, which is not the programs fault, but I felt very rushed in time.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I now know that I would bring more than 400 dollars for spending. I didn't know anything about traveling, so now having gone through it once, I will feel much more prepared for any future trip.

Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
