What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned mostly about how to situate myself globally and how to adapt to a different culture, a different sense of humor, and a different mode of conversation, as well as how to manage my time and manage a commute. I absolutely fell in love with Ireland and with Dublin and it was definitely worthwhile.

Trinity made it possible for me to challenge myself as much as I wanted. The library's resources were vast, and having access to the entire city of Dublin made all the time I didn't spend in class or at home immersive and eye-opening.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Dublin as a city was not super touristy and felt very lived-in, so that by the time I had left I felt like I belonged and I had a place and a stake in Dublin and in Ireland.
* What could be improved?
  • The housing situation is less than ideal. Dublin is in the midst of a housing crisis and the housing available to us was incredibly expensive and is a part of the process of horribly gentrifying the Liberties.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish that I had gone out to Sandycove first, because the people at the Joyce tower were lovely and would have given me a good place to go back to and make more connections.
