Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

If you don't get to much out of the classes themselves, you at least improve your language skills since you speak Spanish all the time.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Overall helpful, but could be more open to change

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived with a family of four (parents & two daughters, 19 and 25) in Nunoa. I enjoyed it overall because it wasn't in one of the richest areas in Santiago, but more in the middle/upper-middle class range. My family was also very open to discussions and very friendly.

I loved the location in Nunoa in terms of social status and my house was fine, although the internet connection NEVER worked. The only bad part was any metro station was a 15-20 minute bus ride away.

* Food:

I love their food, both healthy and unhealthy. However eating out a lot can get pretty expensive.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I wish we had more options and choices within our program, but on your own options are endless. I went to Peru and Argentina without the program with my friends and we had an amazing time!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

I became a lot more comfortable with it and am now able to speak more without thinking so much. It became almost natural.
