It was worthwhile. I learned a lot about Chilean Politics, the people, and the region. You will learn a lot no matter what you do.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Some classes are a lot easier than others. You have to sign up for a lot at the begining because some classes are awful. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Administrator was very friendly but was not good at emailing back or responding to students phone calls. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Good housing. Nice family. but some families were not so great and only consisted of a single mom for example.

Family cooked good meals and were very friendly. But spent most of their time by themselves. |
* Food: |
My family provided lots of food, but chilean food is inherently bad so it can only be so good. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Lots of traveling. But it is hard to make chilean friends. Most people were friends with people in their families. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Only a few people got sick and were taken care of. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Not much. Tufts gives you money each week. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | If you eat at home for lunch, you can save up money. Otherwise you will need extra for traveling. |
Language
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
