I've learned to be more humble. I also learned to value time and the people around me. It was an eye opening experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Overall most classes were rigorous. Studying weekly was a must and some courses had papers, midterms and exams so it was academically intense.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Housing was awesome. Sometimes we would lose electricity or water but we were made aware of this.

Excellent food

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I love the Ghanian culture, the people are very welcoming!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Easily accessible and efficient!

* Safety:

I never felt unsafe in any circumstances.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Most money went to food about $20-40 a week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? The food on campus is relatively cheaper than food off campus so try to eat on campus.

  • Helpful TIG and UG Staff
  • Weekend Trips around various parts of Ghana
* What could be improved?
  • No issues with visas, we were not able to travel to Togo because of this!
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Adjusting back to the American lifestyle is quick difficult!
