A worthwhile experience Past Review
By A student (University of Connecticut) - abroad from 01/15/2016 to 05/15/2016 with
UConn: Granada - UConn in Granada, Spain
It was very worthwhile. I learned many real life skills that I was never exposed to since my time at UConn. I now feel that my problem solving and communication skills grew incredibly.

* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I think that living in a residencia would be more beneficial for this program. Many of us felt slightly awkward/uncomfortable with our senoras and if we were able to stay with spanish speaking people our own age then I believe that we would have been able to practice the language more. I also did not like how we as students were scattered throughout Granada, I would rather have been put within the same few streets because it would have been safer and easier to meet up and walk back at night. |

|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
I would choose a program that did not include a director from UConn because it felt like we were babied at school and on class trips, when meanwhile as soon as we were out of the school setting I had never been given so much freedom and independence to go anywhere/do anything/have to figure everything out myself. It was hard to switch between those two settings so often. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 150 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Budget for each month (including travel expenses) |

|

How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? | Advanced |
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? | Span 3214 |
