I Want to Go Back to Perugia Past Review
By Madeline L (Communication Sciences and Disorders, Saint Xavier University) for
Umbra Institute: Perugia - Direct Enrollment in Semester, Summer or Academic Year Programs
I feel that I am much more culturally aware after this experience. I am also more open to possibilities in everyday life. I learned to be flexible, to keep an open mind, and most importantly, to live every single day to the fullest.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The class was extremely informational, but the expectations for a course taken while abroad were higher than expected. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The support services were easily accessible, and everyone involved was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The location seemed safe and was also very close to the center of town. I brought my own sheets, but there were also some provided. There was a variety of cookware provided as well. |
* Food: |
I had a fantastic experience with the food. The advice given was accurate and appreciated. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I loved going on the trip to Tuscany with the program. The whole weekend was planned wonderfully. I enjoyed going on a trip that I did not have to plan. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I was impressed by the speech given by a police officer at the orientation. He provided very useful information. I did not need to use the healthcare system so I cannot comment on that. I felt like it was dangerous to be walking at night as a woman even if you were with a group of woman. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
