Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The work load was good considering all of my classes were in Spanish. The teaching methods were basic, mostly lecture, but very enjoyable. The information I was presented was very interesting to me and my professors knew a lot about what they were teaching. A big difference is that they don't really report to you on how you are doing in the classes.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I really enjoyed all of my professors at the university. They were organized, informative, clear, and helpful when needed. I never felt like they didn't have time for me. One thing I didn't like was the fact that I didn't get a chance to have an "intercambio". This would have helped me to get more comfortable with my city, however, overall I was generally comfortable with it anyway. Another thing I didn't love was that the program only had a total of 7 students in the whole university. I was expecting to be integrated a little more into the school system there.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I felt very safe in my neighborhood, my host mom was very helpful and I really enjoyed living with her!!!!

* Food:

N/A

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I loved the Valladolid Fair that was going on when we first got there. I also just loved hanging out at a near by cafe and doing homework. It was a very friendly city and I felt welcome.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt the city was VERY safe. I never felt really like I was in danger. The only thing I would say is that because I definitely appear to be American, that COULD pose a small threat. Other than that, it was a very safe city!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
