Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Courses were all taught in Spanish and the instructors were very eager to help students.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The director had an office at the school and was always available if we needed anything.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My host mom treated me like one of her own children.

* Food:

My host mom was a wonderful cook and always gave me too much to eat.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Our university was not part of the actual university but was made up of only the people in our program, so it was fairly difficult to meet people. My host family included me in their social gatherings, which was the only way I ever met anyone new.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I had no problems with health while abroad, but the instructors were always understanding if we were sick and could not make it to class.

* Safety:

I never felt anxious or afraid, even if I was walking alone at night.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
