Université de Lille: Direct Enrollment & Exchange
Having been abroad before, there were expected challenges and new ones. Each experience offers something new to be gained and to be better understood. I appreciate the chance to learn from, and laugh with, so many great people.

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 6 months+ |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
As with any international experience, I was met with academic and cultural challenges (sometimes directly related). After an initial adjustment period, everything moves a very positive direction - great friends, LOTS of varied learning, and fun stories to share. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Public education is highly subsidized by the French government, which means an attractive price tag. Most registration processes are lengthy and paper-based, requiring many steps. A large international student population creates a friendly and diverse environment. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
Cafeterias were open for lunch and offered a new menu each day. There are also grocery stores and markets easily accessible. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Evenings with my classmates sharing our own cultural foods and music. Dancing in the center. Trying all of the local food stuffs! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I had no issues with safety. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
