I had a very positive experience in my class. My professor was great. Not only did I learn a great deal, but I met many interesting people and had alot of fun.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived in a nice old apartment with a very friendly and helpful family. The neighbor hood was great, it was the center of town with easy access to public transit.

* Food:

The food was great and my host family took in to consideration my preferences.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Like in the U.S. just proceed with caution and awareness. Don't be scared, just be smart about what you do and where you go.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Make sure you have plenty of back up money, espeically in case of unforeseen expenses

What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? 200 level courses in phonetics, writing and conversation
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

I practiced with my classmates and with my host family (they didn't speak any English) and in my everyday interactions in public places, i.e. stores and restaurants. Yes I had to use French everyday. There were people who spoke English but I did my best to only speak in French.
