Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I missed small classes and discussions, but in general the quality of the academics were excellent.

On-site administration of your program

Compared to the U.S. I thought the administration was a bit of a mess. We were pretty much left to fend for ourselves.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived in Langton Close, a University owned building. I lived in a single in a "flat" with five other international students. The only common spaces were two small bathrooms and a kitchen though, so it was really more like a regular dorm situation than an apartment. The neighborhood was near Russel Square, not the swankiest area, but it is in central London and was safe. <br /><br />

I would recommend living in self-catering housing. The people I knew in catered housing were generally displeased with the quality and quantity of food, and I appreciated the flexibility of taking care of my own meals.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I thought the student orgs at UCL were really disappointing. Many were poorly run and didn't do much. In general there just didn't seem to be much of a central social scene for the University.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

All students are registered with an NHS doctor in a practice on campus, so dealing with health issues was very easy. London, like all major cities, has some safety issues but I didn't have any problems during my time there.
