About

This program will investigate the impact of globalization on contemporary art by actively engaging with London’s dynamic intercultural and international art scene.  Students will learn to think about art in relation to its changing geopolitical environments, and to consider questions of aesthetics through context, production, criticism, and display. Topics for examination include: the role of migration and multiculturalism on recent directions in contemporary art, the institutionalization of “global contemporary art,” and the changing profile of the institution of the museum, its practices of collecting and display, in the 21st century.
