Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Girton College dorm room. It was a nice, reasonably large Victorian room with high ceiling and nice crown molding. The room furniture could have been better, given that my desk was nearly collapsing, but everything turned out to be sufficient.

|
* Food: |
The English have no idea what to do with food. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Cambridge is a very safe town. Healthcare was reasonably accessible (and free for students!), though at one point I thought I had chipped a bone in my leg and had a very difficult time getting the doctors to diagnose anything. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Bicycles are very expensive in Cambridge as are repairs. Learning to patch your own tires and the like would be a worthwhile investment. |
Language
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
Direct Enrollment/Exchange
* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Direct Enrollment |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Begin preparing freshman year. Cambridge students take only courses in their subject of study, so are more advanced than American students in the third year. |
