Personal Information
How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 0-2 weeks |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Workload was light to manageable but very interesting. The program gave me the opportunity to take classes I wouldn't be able to during the semester. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Program could be disorganized (lost a midterm assignment I handed in early and assumed it had been handed in late, etc.) but the staff are very, very friendly and always helpful if there are issues. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
All singles in fantastic accommodation. The meal plan is not exactly as advertised (an account with money deducted per item, priced at 10 light meals per week--this is not the same as getting 10 meals per week). Internet connections (both WiFi and Ethernet) could be quite spotty. |
* Food: |
Standard dining hall food. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Formal Halls, Scotland trip |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
It's a very, very, very, very safe city. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Phones can get really expensive. I'd recommend some kind of unlimited texting plan rather than pay-as-you-go texting. |
Language
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
Direct Enrollment/Exchange
* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Direct Enrollment |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Bring three times as many sweaters and a third as many pairs of shorts as you were going to. Other than a weekend trip to Barcelona, I only wore shorts twice this summer. |
