University of Cambridge, Pembroke College: Cambridge - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Definitely, but I think it was more worthwhile on a personal rather than intellectual or academic level.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Different grading system, workload manageable and light

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Should have had more technology and support from the staff.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

N/A

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Cream teas, punting tours, trip to Edinburgh

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Safety was not great for the students; the local police were very poorly organized and hardly seemed competent, very slow response times. Healthcare in England in the emergency rooms is horrifically slow; overall terrible in terms of safety and health.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Pounds go so quickly, and things are so expensive.

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
