Solid academics, fantastic city Past Review

University of East Anglia: Norwich - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Taking advantage of school breaks to travel everywhere was the best part of my study abroad. I was able to actually see Britain, not just my dorm room. Those trips and the friends I made on them were life-changing.

The coursework was rigorous but the concepts covered in seminar and lecture were understandable and interconnected

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

It was difficult connecting with students my own age as only first years live on campus, but the town is wonderful and easily accessible

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Chose to do a lot of traveling, so that got spendy, but the biggest issue was the conversion rates

  • The city of Norwich is amazing
* What could be improved?
  • Difficulty getting into classes I wanted - only got one out of three
  • Orientation didn't include basics like getting mail
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? That I would be living with first years and that I wouldn't get all of the classes I wanted. Having the exam schedule earlier would also help in booking plane tickets home
