Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Professors were extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful and had wonderful interactions with students. The course material was also extremely interesting and had enough room for independent study

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The website is extremely helpful and emails were sent out well in advance, preparing us for anything we needed.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Flatmates were wonderful fun and very easy to live with. Location on campus was brilliant! Near the lake, near food, near the LCR for events and of course, sleep ins because we're next to class.

* Food:

Campus food is okay, not amazing. Grocery shops are nearby which is handy.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

There were trips arranged for international students to get to experience a couple of local/British sites, more could have been offered though. In terms of culture on site, it was easy to get involved.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Health care was good, I only had to visit the doctor once for a small check up I was worried about and it was easy to book an appointment on campus, the pharmacy on campus was great and the doctor was extremely obliging. There weren't any major issues, just need to stock up on the vitamins in England.

* Safety:

General safety is perfectly fine, the security on campus are extremely helpful. There were minor issues of theft.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Pretty well, travelling ate up a bit of money and splashing out on food. But in general staying within budget was fine.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? about 70 pounds
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Buy your groceries in bulk with friends and share, make sure you plan any trips in advance, give yourself limits for events/clubbing spending.
