University of Edinburgh: Edinburgh - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
These were some of the 5 best months of my life and I wouldn't take any moment of it back. The city is amazing. The people are amazing. The university is amazing. And it is the birth place of Harry Potter. Definitely, my favorite place in the world.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived in Kincaid's Court right off of Cowgate

* Food:

There is a Tesco Express (on South Bridge) up the stairs and across the street from Kincaid's Court where I did most of my grocery shopping. Great little shop! There is also a Lidl further down the street with really cheap prices. Go to the Three Sisters Pub for a free dinner once a week with your SR Card (card costs 3 Pounds) and the purchase of a beverage (including soda for less than 2 Pounds).

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

It felt like a very safe city, but you do have to be cautious. Don't walk alone at night especially down the Wynds and Closes (alleyways). And do not aggravate any intoxicated people. They can get violent.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $5,000
