I learned to trust my instincts, navigation skills and ability to remember important details as I spent a lot of time traveling independently. The experience was definitely worthwhile because I believe I came home with a new confidence and boldness.

I visited the on-site nurse while I had the stomach flu, but she only told me to sleep and gave no other recommendations. |

I really would have rather spent less time with Americans and more time with locals, learning and appreciating the host culture. |
