Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was very simple, the grading method varied, and the teaching methods were also very different because it is an art school. This program is an American educational system transplanted into Italy, however it is not as challenging at my home institution. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The program was great, but I think it was a little too easy for me. My academic expectations were not met |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|

|
* Safety: |
Cortona is a safe place already |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I tried to spend 50 euro a week on food, but if the group decided to go out, it could often be less |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Anticipate the unexpected |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | Intermediate |
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? | 103 |
Language acquisition improvement? |
I was one of two students who took the upper level Italian course. We only met once a week, but I spoke Italian every day. Most people spoke English, but I often found that the locals like to speak back to me in English while I speak to them in Italian. That way we both get to practice |
