A once in a lifetime experience Past Review

University of Georgia: Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Aside from the overwhelming amount of art history I have now acquired thanks to excursions and museum tours led by an extraordinary art historian, I feel as though I have grown as a person and as an artist. This trip has changed me for the better and widened my global perspective, so it was absolutely worthwhile.

I felt that living in Cortona was the type of Italian experience that I wanted; small, not very touristy, and very genuine. The town was a little secluded and at times it was difficult to travel outside of Cortona, however I would not have wanted to experience Italy in a big city like Florence where there is constant noise and constant tourism.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Wish I saved more money in the beginning but I managed

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100-$150 depending on the week
