England: It May Be Your Cup of Tea. Past Review
By Emily W (Graphic Design., University of Wisconsin - Stout) for
University of Hertfordshire: Hatfield - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
It was everything I wished and more but I think every experience you go on will be like that. I didn't like my location and England is an alright country to live in, but in my opinion more of a place to visit for a couple of days because of how expensive it is. But, I loved my school because it was an international school and you met a lot of people from different cultures and shared them with each other.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The program was super easy, barely had to do any homework. I am quite happy about it but if you were to grade on how much you learned while abroad for education than I didn't learn much. It was a light schedule and wasn't stressful in the least bit. Ones grade was based on one paper and one test usually -- quite easy. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
All expectations were met except I thought I was supposed to be in London -- not thirty minutes outside of London. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Everything was safe. I had to purchase pots/pans ect but bedding was provided (terrible bedding though). |
* Food: |
Accommodations were expensive so I learned how to cook on my own which was helpful because I needed to learn anyways. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Fun place to go if you are looking for a party place. There is a couple clubs on campus and pubs. If you are looking for a nightlife club scene then dont go here, but London is close so no worries. Hatfield is a boring town to be in but the people that are there definitely overcome that obstacle because they are all so great. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|

|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 50 pounds. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Travel expenses, transportation expenses are very high. |
