The craziest, happiest, exciting, and best time of my life. Past Review
By A student (Illinois State University) - abroad from 01/17/2012 to 05/27/2012 with
University of Limerick: Limerick - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I gained a lot of confidence. I gained friends of a life time who I miss every day. I gained a closer relationship with my family. It was all definitely worthwhile.

Review Your Program
|
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I was taught differently while abroad. This challenged me positively. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
They were always there to help and their international system was well put together. Teachers were understanding and advisers very useful. |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The managers were easy to contact and friendly. The style of the apartments were perfect. You get your own room, but share with others providing social contact with other students. |
| * Food: |
Barely ate out; cooked mostly. I enjoyed the food I had when we ate out or cooked at home. |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I felt at home. I had family in my host country; therefore, I felt right at home. I integrated with the students and their culture extremely well. |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I had step throat while being abroad. I've had it before and knew I had it but they insisted I see a nurse first before a doctor. After walking 15 minutes to go see a nurse, they made me make a doctors appointment for later that day. I was not feeling well and wanted to stay in bed and not walk back and forth. Luckily a friend had a car to drive me to the pharmacy. It was not a terrible experience but it was more difficult then it should have been. I was able to talk to a doctor and get my medicine in due time. |
| * Safety: |
Friends are always there looking out for you. There were always security walking around campus, especially at night. I never felt threatened. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|

|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
I couldn't have done it without my parents, but that was known from the beginning of this process. |
