Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Overall, the University of Ljubljana is a great school with phenomenal student benefits. However, I found that many courses only required one assignment and usually one exam. Therefore, the course load was much less than what I'm originally used to. This allowed me to experience more outside of the classroom, which was great. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Administration was helpful and informational when needed. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I had a great location in Ljubljana as I decided to live in private accommodation rather than living in the dorms. I was a ten minute walk from the city center and a 25 minute walk from the faculty. |
* Food: |
The food is awesome and the student discounts completely rock! |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I felt that I took the opportunity to become friends with other exchange students and Slovenian students. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
No experience. |
* Safety: |
Ljubljana is a very safe city. There was not one time I felt uncomfortable. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Very easily as rent was cheap, and student coupons allowed for less money to be spent on food. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Around $50 per week. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | It's very cheap and easy to travel around Europe if you get the right group of friends. Buy food at grocery stores to take with you on trips rather than eating out. It saved me a ton of money! |
